Double stroller woes

I have no desire to own a double stroller.
They are big, bulky, and just plain inconvenient.
I have put off buying one.
Do I really need one?
We already own three strollers.
Sick I know.
But to plead my case I do use them all.

Really.

So far when I have been out and about with
both boys it has worked.
Evan gets the baby Bjorn and Max gets the
stroller or cart. It has been ok for the most part.

There is a problem ( or problems I foresee)...sometimes it is hard
to have Evan on me. ( even though I love having him so close)
1. I am really not able to try on clothes if I am clothes shopping.
2. He can get in the way of my reaching certain items
( I am climbing shelves to reach something which is hard enough alone)
3. It is sometimes easier to tend to them both if they are
not on me.
4. Soon Evan will be a lot heavier.
5. Perhaps it is more convenient?

Should I just give in and get one?
If so, a new problem arises.
Tandem or side by side?
Woe is me.
Silly problem...this I know.

SO, for those of you who have a double stroller, or have dealt
with a double stroller, or have not given in to owning a
double stroller, or just have some advice...lets hear it.
I need to make a decision here.

I have a tandem double stroller and I LOVE it! From what friends have told me, don't get a side by side. It's hard to get it through doorways and shopping aisles at the mall.

what kind of double stroller is it?

I agree with Ashleigh a tandem is the lesser of two evils. There is NO WAY a side by side would work in the here in the city...I hate when I see the sidewalk hogs coming. I mean really they only place you can push those things is a street...keep them out of stores...hate those side by sides in Disneyland too or any crowded place. I can't say which one to buy as far as tandems go but I HATE GRACO products. I have a Graco double stroller and it was falling apart the first year...GRACO has TERRIBLE customer service. So all that to say I will NEVER recommend Graco or buy another GRACO product as long as I live. HEE HEE. I have several friends that have the Phil and Teds double stroller and love them. They are more than a Graco but hey maybe they will actually last longer than a year.

I honestly couldn't live without a double stroller. Seth is just now starting to not need it but before he would whine his head off if I had Jude in the single and he had to walk. Then I would end up carrying one of them and it would kill my back. Good luck deciding. HEE HEE

Funny, I have a graco and for the most part love it. There are a few frustrations with the sunhood and folding it up, but otherwise no complaints. I've had it for almost a year and it's held up nicely.

I have this one:

Ashleigh...that wasn't my first Graco product to break. It broke in less than a year...plus I had not used it much the first year due to wearing a sling a lot in the beginning. I had a Graco Highchair...broke. Graco pack n play...broke in first year. Graco single stroller...broke. It use to be baby products lasted. I expected to be able to use mine for at least most of my kids but no...they didn't even last through one. And their customer service is horrible. They want you to buy all these replacement parts for and then charge a crazy amount to ship them to you.

I have been happy with Fischer Price baby products. They have lasted and worked well for me. I have a Chicco stroller I love. And Car Seats...there is nothing like Britax...I am sold on those babies.

I am not a huge graco fan either. I have a car seat that I got ( because my Evenflo from Max got ruined) for Evan and it sucks! He gets really hot in it, even when it is cold and it is SO heavy. I do have a really nice single stroller, a Peg Prego and I love it. I also have a nice McClaren stroller, but as for the double stroller, ? The Peg Prego is really expensive and I do not know much about it.
I do not want to buy Graco, I do not like their products much and I have heard many a stories about poor customer service, but it seems like the only decent double out there that is tandem is the Graco. AYE ME!
Bethany do you still use that Graco? Or did you get something else. I checked out the Phil and TEds, they are pretty sweet looking.!

I have to say, some of my favorite baby gear that I have is by Fisher Price. Bouncer, swing, papasan. I guess as far as Graco goes, I've just been fortunate. My pack-n-plays haven't broken and I haven't had any trouble with the carseat, double stroller or jumper. My single stroller did break, but it was when I checked it on an airplane. Anyway, good to know about Graco. I don't see myself needing anymore baby products, but if I do, maybe I'll stay away from them because of the problems you've had, Bethany.

I also could not live without my double stroller. I first purchased a Graco Duo-glide which was amazing. I know everyone on here hates their strollers and products, but let me tell you, it was a godsend. It was also very stylish looking with black and camel coloring. When Camryn was born, Gabe was just 18 months old, so I felt like we definitely needed a double. Once Camryn hit a year old and Gabe was 2 1/2, we purchased a Sit and Stand type of stroller that's AMAZING. Everywhere we go we get compliments. Before you go and buy this (anyone) email me or blog me or something because I do have few minor, minor complaints. Over all, it's the nicest and least pricey tandem stroller out there. I have mine in bright orange and what I like about the sit and stand is that Gabe can still be buckled in once he sits down and when he stands, he can lean back against the strap that holds him in securely. I really have no idea about double strollers, but I have seen these sit and stand strollers and they look pretty dang cool. I have no idea who makes them...probably the evil Graco.

Anne and Ashleigh I still use my Graco double stroller but it has duck tape all over it. HEE HEE. And the wheel is about to fall off. Can't wait till it does! I will be gettting a new double stroller on the next baby.

Tons of people here have that 800 Bugaboo and they are always talking about them getting stollen so my son sometimes expresses concern over my stroller getting stollen to which I just laugh and say go ahead and steal my stroller I will do a little happy dance. Side note...I can NEVER imagine paing 800 for a stoller that you can't park and leave for fear of it getting stolen or for a piece of baby equipment that is going to get food smashed in it and poo and pee and puke on it etc etc. That just seems ridiculous to me. But they do look cool...just not 800 cool.

That Joovy stroller looks cool. I just need one I can let them really relax then. I am a hard core Disnyland and Gardens several times a month momma

I would highly recommend the Maclaren side by side double, then. If you want them to both have comfort, and not worry about taking up much space, it's definitely worth your money AND you can get them cheaper on Ebay by trusted sellers.
