Recommendation Monday.

I absolutely, positivley, love and think this is the most wonderfullest cartoon. I love Charlie and his little sister Lola. The animation is simply adorable and the stories, oh so cute. Max laughs and laughs at the episodes. Orginally put out by the BBC I happened upon them online once and ordered their first two volumes of DVD's and we LOVE them. I believe the Disney Channel airs episodes as well. Geared for ages 3-8 my two year old adores Charlie and Lola too.

a good gift.

I received the best package this week! My cousin Sara sent us a package with a note and colored page from her 2 year old son Paul, a Ziploc baggie filled with sand and seashells from the beach (where she lives), and a CD. On this CD was her testimony she gave to a women's retreat they had at their church. What an incredible gift! As Evan and I ran a few errands on Saturday afternoon I had a chance to listen to it. I cried. It was so simple but such a transformation that I knew about but it was different to hear her say it. Sara has been through a lot in her life and it was so amazing to hear her tell her story in her own words. I feel so blessed that she shared it with me. Thank you Sara.
Plus, I also have a little piece of paradise on my window sill now.

the great double stroller debacle continues...

Awhile back I had posted about my double stroller woes...well the woes continue my friends. Again, I want to ask those of you who have doubles what you have and if you love it or hate it. I don't want to spend a small fortune on a stroller I am not planning on using too often, but I also do not want a piece of junk. Here are my three choices...I think.
I know, I know Bethany you LOATHE Graco, but I really like the way this one looks. So if I get it I will keep my fingers crossed so I never have to deal with their customer service. I also have read some good reviews on this one. This Kolcraft is one I just happened to stumble upon, there are mixed reviews about it, so I think this is my last choice.

This one is an Eddie Bauer by Dorel Juvenille group inc. I like it because it is small, but is it too small? Only one review on it.
I had a double stroller. Yes, I actually purchased and owned a Chicco side by side stroller. But, after having multiple problems with it, I decided to return it. The store I got it from was really great, and Chicco customer service was actually reall great too. It just did not work out. I decided too from the short relationship I had with the stroller that I wanted a tandem as opposed to a side by side. I liked that the boys were next to each other, but it was TOO wide. If you have any suggestions...I am taking them. So, the search continues...

Jon & Kate...plus 8!

I don't really watch that much TV but on Monday nights Justin plays basketball so I use it as our do nothing night. Tonight I tuned in to TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 (thanks for telling me about it Nicole!) for the second Monday in a row.

Jon and Kate Gosselin wanted to have kids but after some testing Kate found out she did not ovulate. So the did fertility treatments and soon were pregnant with twin girls! A year later and Kate loved being Mom so much they thought they would adopt. When things were going way too fast they decided to wait on the adoption. Jon saw how sad Kate was not to be Mom again tht he agreed to do fertility treatments again. Soon they were pregnant again...but this time with 6! The doctor told them they could talk about "reduction" as they were both in tears when they found out how many there were! But they said, "No way!"

The show followed her pregnancy, (I have NEVER seen a belly get so big, and I thought I got big!) and up to today...the sextuplets will be 2 in May. They are a hillarious couple who stick together as a team to make it with their eight children. They relate to each other like Justin and I, and I think that makes me just love this show. The Mom, Kate is a little OCD and the Dad, Jon takes longer than Kate to get ready in the morning!

I am truly amazed though, they do it! They really do it on their own. It is chaotic at times but she is organized and has a plan, and it is working. The kids are simply adorable, and watching them all relate is fun to watch!

Happ Birthday Babe!

Happy Birthday to a fabulous husband and Dad! After we married and I realized he is as flawed as anyone else, (what? I thought marriage was supposed to be all lovey all the time with just silly, meaningless fights.) I can still honestly still say that he's turned out to be my favorite person in the world; something only God could have known. God rocks! So I thank God for giving me Just to walk through life on this earth with.

Happy Birthday Justin! I love you.

Recommendation Monday

Patemm Pads Iknow I have told many of you about this product, but I have to say it again. I love this thing. This pad folds up so easy, fits a couple of diapers and pack of wipes inside, and slips into your bag so nicely. Oh, and it is so easy to clean. Before I got mine, I had a pad that had diaper rash cream stains all over the bloody thing, and it was so hard to fold up. Plus, it comes in such great patterns and colors!

latest project.

I got this chandelier for a great deal in the kids section at Target. Shabby Chic...loving that line! Someone had bought it and returned it opened so they slashed the price. Anyway, the flowers on it were pink, so I painted the whole chandelier white, added some cute shades and wallah! I know have a great light in my kitchen window that I love.

first haircut.

before
after
Technically not his first haircut...if you want to count the times I tried to cut his hair! It was his first haircut done at a actual haircut place. He was not excited at first, but he got to sit in a cool airplane chair, and watch Dora the Explorer so he calmed down pretty quick! It is a little shall we say ridgid looking to me so I am going to try and make the bangs a little more messy looking...we will see! :)

yesterday

Unless you shut yourself away from all news, I am sure you have heard by now about the school shootings at Virginia Tech. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to have been there and survived, or to get the call that your son or daughter was one of the victims.
This event, like any that has happened in our history is tragic. Pray for the friends, families, and students of V.T. as they endure the loss of loved ones. When things like this happen, I am reminded about how short life really is. People die everyday; and while not all deaths make national headlines people are hurting everyday as they mourn the loss of loved ones. Growing up a handful of friends lost a parent, and I have even had friends pass away unexpectedly. Life does go on after people pass, but without Christ I am not sure how I would cope.
How amazing is it to have hope? To have Christ to cling to? To know him and rejoice in his glory admist pain? Many before me have endured much more in a day than I have in my whole life but yet they clung close to Christ trusted in him completely. Yet many times I have strayed when times were easy.
I guess what I am trying to say is that we need to continue to pray daily for our world. While I know that so many will continue to reject Christ, we need to remain steadfast and show his love through our lives. Live each day as if it were your last, live each day for Christ.

what in the world?

My husband.
We are getting ready to head out to run a few errands yesterday and he decides to do a quick shave job. Anyway, he comes down looking like this...

"Nobody will want to mess with me like this, will they?"
I doubt anybody really wanted to mess with him in the first place...but anyway. He was clean shaven this morning when he headed out the door today.
So this morning I go to upload some pictures from my camera and lo and behold these pictures are there...so I had to share. Yikesa!

Chruch home.

Since moving we have been church "shopping" most Sundays. The church we have attended most often has good teaching, the worship is decent, and there are ways to get involved. It is a church whose primary goal is to glorify God. We have not plugged ourselves in yet, but we also feel a bit neglected. We have been more than 5 times and only 2 people have approached and introduced themselves to us. I know that some people are not good about approaching new people, and you cannot always talk to everybody, but it seems a bit odd.
We are in "Bible Belt" country, and with a church nearly on every corner, I know there is one that will fit us well. I think it is challenging for us since we have two young ones ( who are not really accustomed to nursery). I am praying that God would give us guidence and that soon we can begin to meet people and get involved so that we might come together with other christians to glorify him together. I ask that you pray this for us as well.

" No more pictures!"

Evan & Samantha

We got home safe and sound last Saturday, I must say I am very proud of how well my boys did 7.5 hours in a car. This week started of gorgeous...in the 80's ( pics to come!) and then Weds. it got COLD! It is lingering around 40 and is supposed to stay that way through the weekend. It worked out for us though because both my boys got sick on Weds. Max is doing great today and Evan is almost out of the woods. I hope it gets warm again soon though!
