the great double stroller debacle continues...

Awhile back I had posted about my double stroller woes...well the woes continue my friends. Again, I want to ask those of you who have doubles what you have and if you love it or hate it. I don't want to spend a small fortune on a stroller I am not planning on using too often, but I also do not want a piece of junk. Here are my three choices...I think.
I know, I know Bethany you LOATHE Graco, but I really like the way this one looks. So if I get it I will keep my fingers crossed so I never have to deal with their customer service. I also have read some good reviews on this one. This Kolcraft is one I just happened to stumble upon, there are mixed reviews about it, so I think this is my last choice.

This one is an Eddie Bauer by Dorel Juvenille group inc. I like it because it is small, but is it too small? Only one review on it.
I had a double stroller. Yes, I actually purchased and owned a Chicco side by side stroller. But, after having multiple problems with it, I decided to return it. The store I got it from was really great, and Chicco customer service was actually reall great too. It just did not work out. I decided too from the short relationship I had with the stroller that I wanted a tandem as opposed to a side by side. I liked that the boys were next to each other, but it was TOO wide. If you have any suggestions...I am taking them. So, the search continues...

I am looking again too. And like you don't want to spend a fortune. But I really like the Phil and Ted ones the E3 but it is expensive. Not Bugaboo expensive but still expensive. I wish you luck on the GRACO. My basket is completely duck taped on the handle padding is torn off and two wheels are about to fall off and it is so hard now to completely close. There was another one I saw recently...I think it might have been a Caboose or something like that it looked really sturdy. I need to research more. Don't do the GRACO!!! HEE HEE JK you can get if you like. I do think they get good reviews because A LOT of people have them. Sometimes you gotta look out though the reviews are from people that have just purchased and have not really broken them in. But hey maybe they have improved. I did by mine three years ago.

Hmm, we'll I finally (I think) decided on the Baby Jogger City Double: http://strollers.baby-gaga.com/
baby-jogger-city-double.php
after considering it and the Valco. But both are super expensive and side-by-side, so that probably takes them off your list. Also, because it's an all-terrain stroller, it's also more expensive, but that's a must for me. I'm outside more that in malls, but I want it to handle both situations equally well.

A friend of mine with two kids of different ages like yours swears by the Chariot Carriers, but they're expensive again.

Sorry, probably I'm no help.

Okay, I've had a Grace double stroller for a year and a half. I use it all the time -- the mall, the zoo, walks, etc. I pile it high with stuff and normally fill the basket to overflowing. It gets thrown in the back of the van. So it's definitely been broken in. I really don't have any serious complaints. In fact, I like it. The only problem I've had with it is the front sunshade doesn't want to stay on. That's it.

Anyway, that's my two cents on Graco. It's not that I'm a huge fan of Graco and buy everything from them, but I wanted to let you know that I have one I've broken in and it's still in good shape and serving me well.

It's been 5 years since I bought a stroller and it was only a single, so I can't speak to the double. However, it is a Century and handled very well. I used a hefty gift card in order to buy it, and never regretted it. The main thing to remember is: if Momma's happy, everyone's happy. If Momma ain't happy, ain't no one happy. I needed one that would steer really smoothly, hold a bunch of crap in the basket, have a cupholder (always thirsty nursing) and not be so heavy that my bladder would bust throwing it into the van. So, if Century has a double, I would check it out becuase design-wise, I would guess they've taken a lot of cues from real moms. I would put looks last on the list of must-haves. Cuz once you hate it, it looks baaaaad to ya! How's that for a nonscientific reveiw?
